Since 1989 great steps in the developmental sector have been
made. The projects which are concluded are mentioned below.
Rural roads in the village of Apliki have been constructed.
In 1996 a bore for water was made for agricultural use, in
the area Platania. This bore will serve all the inhabitants
of the village and also some expatriates who are owners of
land in the area.
All the traditional narrow roads of the village have been
enlarged (where possible) and in 1998 the roadway was removed
and all the roads in the village were reconstructed with two
layers of Premix. The central waste system was also created
and it officially begun working on May 1998, providing better
service to all the inhabitants.
Several embellishment works have been done. For example the
walls of the houses are covered with traditional stones. Furthermore,
green spaces are created with grass and many trees. In the
green spaces and in the yard of the church, lighting was put.
Parking places are also created.

Anti-flood projects have been constructed and in 1994 a bore
for the water supply of the village was opened in the area
“Zoumas” in Palaichori Orinis. Thus, the lack of potable water
is no longer a problem for the inhabitants of Apliki. Later
on, the electrical network was expanded and lighting was put
along the roads of the community.

The Community Council of Apliki has also cared and support
the children. A big field was built on the west side of the
church of Agios Riginos and Orestis. The field is around 1300
square meters and it has fencing. The half of this field has
grass and the entire place has lighting so everyone can spend
their time there safely, day or night.

On February 2004 the Community Council has opened the new
road of Apliki and Sikopetra reducing the distance between
these areas. The old school was restored and it will be the
next cultural center.
Within 2005, irrigation works will be constructed. The total
cost for these works is 90.000 pounds. The contribution of
the Irrigation Department will be covered by the Community
Council, thus nobody will be taxed.
These are the most important works and projects which have
been done in the village from 1989 to 2005.
